Daily Readings And Meditation of The Catholic Church

Daily readings offer a wonderful way to get to know our Lord better in His Word. In the Safari browser, the e-book icon on the left side of the address bar allows these reflections to be quite readable on an iPhone or iPad.

We have asked Creighton faculty, staff and administrators to reflect upon the daily readings each day. (Priests and other religious are required to pray sections from the Liturgy of the Hours each day.)

There are also several good magazines that publish the daily readings in a handy portable format, such as Magnificat, Living With Christ, and The Word Among Us. Each page includes a reference to each reading, as well as a link to the text of the readings. Jerome once said that ignorance of the Scriptures is ignorance of Christ. We've also included links below to several good sites for daily meditations on God’s word as revealed to us each day at Mass.

The Liturgy of the Hours is a special collection of scripture readings, psalms, and hymns that constitute what is known as the prayer of the Church. Click on the underlined name below for the daily reflections. It is also called the Divine Office. Please hit "RELOAD" or "REFRESH" for the latest version of this calendar.
